The biggest lie modern society tries to sell us is that magic isn’t real.
I call their bluff.
Fireflies light up the night from early to mid summer. Like sparkling fairy dust floating through the forests and tall grasses. They are nature’s twinkle lights setting the world aglow for just a brief time.
Just as the fireflies end their mating season, the crickets fill the late summer nights with a symphony of life.
It’s near impossible to believe such tiny creatures can create such enormous, hallmark sounds.
Each of these tiny creatures mass together with their kin to create a seasonal gift. If you take the time to notice them, you can stand witness to their magic.
It’s hard to paint a sound, so I chose to paint fireflies. This piece captures the wonder filled feeling of late summer nights.
